Achievement Day

Achievement Day is an event where members can showcase their talents to the wider Federation club community. Achievement days are held at the Federation District level and winners can advance to the showcases held at the State Convention and the GFWC National Convention. There are different types of contests:

  • Performance Days – Any type of performance is accepted (dance, singing, music, comedy, readings, etc). Member must attend to perform
  • Arts & Culture Days – has many, many, many categories across painting, needlework, crafting, baking, sewing, and photography to name a few. 
  • GFWC Photography Contest – There are four categories: Our World Up Close, Natural Wonders, Reflections and Living the Volunteer Spirit.
  • Environment Days – There are three categories: Artistic Design, Horticulture (houseplants), and Upcycle.
  • Creative Writing Contest – Members can submit their own work across different categories: Poetry, Haiku, Plays, Short Story, Book Review or Memoir.

In addition to showcasing our talents, members and the Club may also receive awards for their Club efforts and activities. Annual reports are written summarizing our work are submitted to the District chairs and then the Federation.
