Fall Boat Tour

What a picture-perfect fall day! 🍂☀️ Our club members soaked up the sunshine on Saturday during a scenic Hudson River boat tour. The leaves may not have been at their peak, but the lovely views, fresh breeze, and fascinating scommentary on the rich history along the New York and New Jersey shoreline made it a truly memorable day!

Did you know there is a little lighthouse at the base of the George Washington Bridge? The Little Red Lighthouse has been keeping watch since 1921! 🚤🍁

Mansion in May House Tour

We had a fabulous time at the Mansion in May designer showhouse — featuring our very own Barbara Ostrom! Her stunning and elegant living room design was a true highlight. Every one of the 50 rooms and gardens was absolutely spectacular. What an inspiring day! Definitely worth a visit!

NeuroArt Day

November was a creative and relaxing month at the Woman’s Club! Our NeuroArt class, led by the talented Lana Stovbun, gave us the perfect opportunity to let our thoughts wander and de-stress while creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind art. A big thank you to Lana for guiding us through this mindful journey!

Poe Cottage Tour

For October’s spooky season, the Women’s Club had a fantastic day diving into the eerie world of Edgar Allan Poe! Members explored Poe Cottage in the Bronx, where the legendary author spent his final days seeking fresh air and inspiration in what was then the countryside. 🏡🍂

After an insightful tour of his home, no Bronx visit would be complete without a trip to Arthur Avenue! Members wrapped up the day with a delicious meal, enjoying great food and even better company. 🍝🖤

Here’s to more unique adventures and celebrating literary legends together!

Summer Beverage Workshop

Members gathered at Darshana’s home to learn new recipes for summer drinks. It was lovely evening trying different flavor variations. Fan favorites were the orange-basil granita, the frozen mock coffee martini, and the rose milk strawberry trifle. So many yummy recipes!

Comedy Show Evening

Members enjoyed dinner together and Dena Blizzard’s “I Love You, Get Away From Me!” comedy show at the Mayo Performing Arts Theater in Morristown last week. Thanks to our Arts Chairs––Kristen, Christine, and Brigitte––for organizing an enjoyable evening of comaraderie and laughs.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Members commemorated International Holocaust Remembrance Day at the end of January. Our Book Club members read The Midwife of Auschwitz by Anna Stuart and, together with other members and friends, made a trip to the Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education on the nearby campus of Rockland Community College. We participated in a Moral Courage Workshop and toured the museum. It was sobering afternoon and a reminder to fight to end hatred of any kind, anywhere. Many thanks to Phyllis Schmaus who led our tour.
