Thank you to everyone who supported our Baby Shower Drive!

We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the 1,500+ items donated, valued at over $7,400, to benefit Lighthouse Pregnancy Center and Oasis, A Haven for Women and Children.

A special shoutout to Dagne Dover for their generous donation of stunning diaper bags and accessories, and to Lauren for gifting a brand-new 4-in-1 convertible crib!

For those unfamiliar:

Lighthouse supports women, men, and teens facing unplanned pregnancies with free, confidential services. They currently run 25 ultrasounds per week and welcomed over 600 babies last year.

Oasis empowers women and children to rise out of poverty through basic needs assistance, adult education, and social services.

Together, we’ve made a meaningful impact—thank you!

Thanks to the generosity of our members at our 23rd annual June Baby Shower, we were able to collect and donate many needed items to The Center For Hope And Safety and The Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center. Among the items were 142 new outfits sized newborn to 5 T, 17 bags and boxes of diapers, 11 packs and boxes of wipes, and assorted other baby needs like towels, bibs, crib sheets, stuffed animals, pacifiers and sippy cups–even tiny shoes and socks!

We have had a very successful club year thanks to the energy, ideas, and dedication of our members, and we look forward to serving our greater community again in our upcoming 2024-2025 club year!

We are grateful to our members for their incredible generosity in supplying needed baby clothes, diapers, and many other items needed by Children’s Aid and Family Services and The Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center. We sorted and donated clothing from size 0-3 months to 5T, baby bath supplies, formula, pacifiers, board books, small toys, diaper cream, blankets, bottles, and many boxes of diapers and wipes. We filled two carloads with the donations and our hearts were happy to help!

Our June Meeting was a real end-of-club-year celebration! We met at Anona Lake Pavilion and had a wonderful evening sampling each other’s favorite appetizers and desserts and donating new baby clothes for The Children’s Aid and Family Services Baby Basics Program in Paramus and The Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center in Hawthorne. Members socialized and reflected back on the year’s activities and accomplishments. Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, September 6th at the Library, and on September 17th we’ll hold our 6th annual Town-Wide Garage Sale (info and application on the Garage Sale tab of this website). A happy, healthy, and safe summer to all!

Due to the overwhelming generosity of our members and guests at our Baby Shower, we sorted and packaged girl’s and boy’s clothing  sized 3 months to 24 months for The Baby Basics Program at Children’s Aid and Family Services, and size 2 to 5 for the Strengthen Our Sisters Shelter. These photos show a sampling of the items donated–clothing of course, but also big boxes and bags of diapers, wipes, toys, board books, shoes, socks blankets, an infant swing and more. We had to pack a car for two days to make the deliveries! Pictured below are Maria DiMartino, Linda Miko, and Nona Maher with the representative from The Baby Basics Program at Children’s Aid and Family Services. A huge thank you to all who supported us! You helped to make a difference for many families in need.

On June 4th our club held our 18th annual Baby Shower to benefit moms in need, Donations this year were targeted for Strengthen Our Sisters Shelter and The Baby Basics Program at Children’s Aid and Family Services. Members were so generous with their donations, and attendees enjoyed dinner together at Savini’s Restaurant in Allendale. This Shower also marked the end of our Club year. Our next Club meeting will be on September 10th at 7pm at the Upper Saddle River Library. All members and prospective members are welcome to attend.  Come and learn about us and our charitable causes!

Our members and guests enjoyed desserts and conversation as we ended our Club year with a celebration organized by Social Chair, Kathie Durante, at The Bishop House in Saddle River on June 6th.
Our meeting coincided with our 16th annual Baby Shower for the women and children at Strengthen Our Sisters Shelter. Our reception area was overflowing with members’ generous donations of clothing, diapers, wipes, socks, blankets, and toiletries for children up to size 5T.
Our Social Service Chairs, Maria DiMartino and Sheila Ghorashi, along with Kathie Durante drove a van load of our donations to the Shelter on June 9th.
Many thanks to all who contributed, and to our members who worked together and enjoyed our events and projects! You made this another successful Club year!
